Installing CDO

You are installing on a system that already has Exchange System Manager from Exchange Server 2003 installed.  ESM already installs its own CDO.

Add2Exchange requires the Microsoft CDO library to be installed on the same machine.  CDO does not need to be installed anywhere else.

Add2Exchange requires at least CDO version 6.5.8165.0, released on 4/28/2010, or any later version.

Be Aware

If you are installing on an Exchange 2003 server, however, this CDO version requirement is waived and you do not need to install CDO.  The existing version installed by Exchange will work as long as you are synchronizing to an Exchange 2003 server.

1.Log onto the Add2Exchange server
2.Download the latest version of CDO from:

Important

There are two versions of CDO from Microsoft, one for Outlook 2007 and one for Exchange.  Add2Exchange requires the Exchange version.  The filename of the required version is ExchangeMapiCdo.exe.  Outlook's version, ExchangeCdo.exe, will not work.

3.Uninstall any prior version of CDO using the Add or Remove Programs control panel

Important

You must manually uninstall the older version of CDO.  Some versions fail to upgrade important files without doing so.

4.Install the downloaded CDO
