Creating the zAdd2Exchange Account

Print this Topic Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Add2Exchange requires an account under which the Add2Exchange service will run.  This is because the Add2Exchange service requires special permissions over the Exchange stores.

We recommend that this service account be named "zAdd2Exchange".  This allows you to use all of the commands and examples in the following sections by cutting and pasting.  From here on in the manual we will refer to the service account as "zAdd2Exchange".  If you choose to use a different name, then simply substitute that name for "zAdd2Exchange" in the following examples and commands.

Tip

Why "zAdd2Exchange"?  The "Add2Exchange" part is obvious, but the "z" is to sort the name alphabetically toward the end of the Global Address List.  This is because the service account cannot be hidden from the GAL.  Since the name "Add2Exchange" would show up near the top of the list, it would be seen by users whenever they opened the GAL, which is an unnecessary annoyance.
