Application Performance Tab

This setting can be used to voluntarily slow the processing of Add2Exchange.  It is strongly recommended that you only change this setting one notch at a time, as each notch has an exponential effect.  You should verify the effect on synchronization time by consulting the success audits in the Add2Exchange event viewer log after each change to this setting.  By design, setting this adversely affects the synchronization time of Add2Exchange.

Be Aware

This setting should only be used as a last resort if your Exchange server routinely runs overloaded.  In normal operation, Exchange's regular load-balancing mechanisms make sure that Add2Exchange only gets a portion of the available processing time.

If your server is so routinely overloaded that you are convinced Add2Exchange's processing is taking away vital resources, then you can use this setting to slow down Add2Exchange.  However, this is a tactical response to a strategic problem, which is not that Add2Exchange takes too much in Exchange resources but rather that there are not enough Exchange resources to go around.  It is strongly recommended that you resolve whatever resource issues there may be and to re-enable regular speed Add2Exchange operation once that is accomplished.
