Tampa, Florida, April 3, 2007- As a part of their ongoing commitment to solve the synchronization needs for Microsoft Office Users worldwide, Advantage International Inc., a Microsoft Exchange & Outlook solutions provider and Microsoft Certified Partner, announced today that hundreds of government agencies, non-profit organizations and educational institutions are using their DidItBetter Software Solutions to synchronize their Exchange server-side public and private Outlook calendars, contacts, & tasks. In addition, many users are taking advantage of DidItBetter Software Outlook synchronization solutions’ capabilities to allow for syncing of public or shared folders down to their mobile devices.
DidItBetter Software offers two solutions for Outlook synchronization: Add2Exchange and Add2Outlook. Add2Exchange is an Exchange Ad-on which synchronizes private and/or public Outlook folders of the same type (Calendar, Contact, Task) and in any direction. For mobility, this sync solution allows for wireless or cradled synchronization of public and private folders to any mobile device including PDAs, Smartphones, or Pocket PCs, and also works with Outlook Web Access.
Add2Exchange is installed on the Exchange Server or File Server. Once installed, the administrator creates relationships between two Outlook folders of the same type (Calendar, Contact, or Task). Once the folder relationship is configured, items created in the source folder are copied to the destination folder. Then any changes, edits or deletions are synchronized unidirectional or bidirectional based on the Rules of the Relationship.
DidItBetter Software defines a “folder relationship” as a relationship set up by an administrator on a pair of calendars, contact folders or task folders to determine the type of copying which is desired between a source and a destination folder. Replication can be done on any combination of the same type of Exchange private and public Outlook folders. Once the relationship is created, items will replicate based on user definable settings or the “Rules of the Relationship”.
For those who are not allowed to install software on the Exchange server like many government agencies, DidItBetter Software also offers Add2Outlook. Add2Outlook is installed on each user’s workstation but only works with two folder relationships, where as Add2Exchange works with up to an unlimited number of folder relationships.
“It’s invigorating to know that we are enabling agencies of such stature to increase productivity and to truly group collaborate using Outlook. Overcoming this limitation of Microsoft Exchange has allowed major organizations to communicate with each other faster and more efficiently.” states Trace Tervo of DidItBetter Software.
